How much do you want :-) We sell from single disc units to 9 disc units. Roughly figure one disc per square foot of surface area.
It uses electrical oscillation
at ultrasonic frequencies. The ceramic disk changes the electrical oscillation into
mechanical oscillation, creating the mist and water spray. The single unit
mist maker diffuses approx 100 ml of water per hour. Its simple to set up,
just drop it in water between 1.5-2.5 inches deep, plug it in, and instant
fog! For large fountains or outdoor ponds, check out our 3 and 5 and
9 disk
units with exterior transformers and 25 feet of cable!
What are some practical applications for the Mist Maker?
The Mist Maker adds
moisture to dry environments. An effective cool
air humidifier.
It also works as an ionizer. There
are many "air" ionizers on the market today that are very effective at
cleaning the indoor air we breathe. The Mist Maker acts in much the same
way. It has the added bonus of providing beautiful fog in the
process! And if you use aromatherapy oils or perfumes, the Mist Maker also becomes an effective
Aromatherapy Diffuser. Also used for pets, to add
humidity to terrariums and reptile cages. Try using the mist maker at Halloween. Put it
in a carved pumpkin in a container of water. You can also make a really
awesome bubbling cauldron complete with lights.
How can the Mist Maker be used for Aromatherapy?
Traditional oil diffusing lamps
use heat to diffuse the essential oils. The Mist Maker with its cool mist does
the same job, but better, your oils will last for
a longer period of time in the water. Even better I think, is adding a
spray or two of your favorite cologne or perfume! Using oils will require
more frequent cleaning.
Is the Mist Maker environmentally safe?
Absolutely. The
Mist Maker uses no chemicals or dry ice to produce its fog and is UL
listed. It works by ultrasonic oscillation.
.Does the Mist Maker require maintenance?
Yes. But don't worry, it
doesn't need much. When you notice a decrease in fog output you should either clean or replace the ceramic disk. To clean, unplug the
unit, and using a Q-Tip dipped in white vinegar, gently clean the ceramic
disk. To remove the ceramic disk, use the tool provided with your
replacement and follow the directions carefully, do not over tighten. They are not difficult at
all.
Yes, you can use ordinary tap water. However depending on your local
water, it may be best to use filtered drinking water as it can increase the life of your
ceramic disk and reduce scale.
No, in fact it is low voltage,
using only 24 watts of energy.
Can I add a mist maker to an existing fountain?
Sure, as long as there is enough water to cover the auto shutoff on the mist maker, you can add fog and light to almost any water feature.
